*ahem* Yes, I know, I'm a bit slow on the uptake. I was recently introduced to the joy that is Valve's Portal by a friend. I absolutely loved it! Despite the fact that I'm a complete and utter noob at gaming, and what is intended to be a finishable-in3-hours MINI game took me over two months intermittently, I really loved the whole concept. However, like many, though adoring GLaDOS I found myself somewhat enamoured with the Weighted Companion Cube. I was also, at that point in time, somewhat desperate for distractions. Having finished the game a few weeks before exams (I have to do something with my hands during study breaks or I go insane) I found myself sketching the WCC a few too many times for comfort, and the idea for my current project came about!

I'm currently making a (not-weighted!) Companion Cube Cushion. I started cutting out during exams, and I'm using lots and lots of vliesofix and applique and interfacing to make everything neat because of the stretch fabrics (something my friends will be familiar with my obsession over, from when I made a massive Garfield cushion a few years ago).

When I'm finished, these WIP pics will be scrapped, and I'll give it to the friend who introduced the game to me! How's that for good samaritan-ism? _{it's not because having this around the house would be certifiable proof of my geekdom... oh no...}
